Kindergarten & Pre-K Enrollment for 2024-2025
Kindergarten & Pre-K registration are open.
We welcome all children turning five years old on or before August 31, 2024, to register for kindergarten here. Once you submit the online enrollment application, the school will call to schedule a screening appointment.For new or returning preschool students, click here to register. Students must be at least three years old on or before August 31, 2024. This registers your child with Caldwell County Schools. It does not guarantee enrollment in a preschool classroom.

Face Masks
Currently, face masks are optional for students and for staff.
The Board of Education approved the Face Coverings policy (Policy 4231/5021/7263) on November 8, 2021, and it defines parameters that determine whether face masks are required or optional. Face masks will be required whenever the COVID positivity rate for students and staff exceeds 0.5 percent within a three-week rolling average. The status of face masks will be announced on Fridays for the following week.
Face Coverings on buses and other school transportation are required per federal mandate.

NC and Caldwell County Schools Welcome First Electric Activity School Bus
Caldwell County Schools proudly unveiled North Carolina’s inaugural electric activity school bus today, adding to the school district’s white bus fleet a cutting-edge, 72-passenger electric bus made possible through grant funding awarded by the Department of Environmental Quality.

Students and Businesses Co-Design Solutions
Middle and high school students, under the guidance of their teachers, have teamed up with local businesses and organizations to tackle real-world challenges in business models and community development. The culmination of their efforts was showcased at the Community Exhibition held on Mar. 18 at the JE Broyhill Civic Center, where school teams presented their innovative problem-solving techniques, collaborative co-designing approach, effective team strategies, and successful outcomes in addressing workforce dilemmas and community issues.

Community Education Grant Winners Announced
The Education Foundation Inc. of Caldwell County announced the recipients of its latest round of Community Education Grants, which are intended to foster innovation in educational projects. The Foundation allocated grant funds to six deserving initiatives within the learning environments of Davenport A+ School, Lower Creek Elementary, South Caldwell High School, Caldwell Applied Sciences Academy, Gamewell Elementary, and Kings Creek School.
